After a good couple of weeks, I have finally been able to fix all of the errors to a point where I am able to get out a stable release. Here are the new implementations and changes made for this update in ProjectR:
- [NEW ABILITY] Purple Vortex (Q): Unleash a rotating cyclone that deals 10 Damage for each Sphere Trace Hit onto the enemy. The actual model isn’t purple yet, but I plan to add colors and particle effects to it soon.
- [NEW ABILITY] Dueling Spirit (R): For 3 seconds, emits a rotating slash ability around the Player, mitigating damage taken by 50%. In game, Players and Enemies deal 10 Damage, so the damage the Player would take during this ability would be 5 Damage.
- [REMOVED] Item Slot 3: I did not need to remove the Item Slot, and to be honest I probably should have kept it, but I will put it back in soon. I plan to have Item Slot 3 be a test for Shield Health, a mechanic I have not touched in a while.
- [NEW] The Main Menu Options Button can be clicked and take you to the Options screen. I intend to have this screen have Volume, Resolution, and Graphics Controls, as well as PC Key Bind Controls.
What were the biggest challenges for this Update:
- Timing and getting this update was the biggest challenge. I have been attempting to juggle many projects and obligations and I realistically have limited time to be able to work on everything in one day.
- The Bug I mentioned where Game Modes were not switching properly when clicking the Options Button in the Main Menu. It was one quick switch, but it took multiple adjustments in the Project Settings before it was able to properly package.
- The Dueling Spirit ability required implementing it in code that was from months ago and overall was definitely not the best way to do things. For short, Enemy attacks Player, gets Player Reference, asks if Dueling Spirit is active, and if it is: mitigate damage, or if not: do not mitigate damage.

This is the Blueprint for the Enemy AI. I do not like how this looks and I will organize it by grouping it into colored comments.
I hope that Version 1.5 will not take too long…
